I never thought I’d actually publish this.
For years, I wrote in private. I wrote when the memories came rushing back. I wrote when therapy helped me connect dots I had spent a lifetime avoiding. I wrote when I finally found the words for what I had lived through.
Now, it’s here.

My Brand New Story: Why I Went No-Contact is my true story. It’s about being adopted into a home where I never quite felt safe, navigating the quiet pain of emotional neglect, and finding my voice again after going no-contact with my adoptive parent.
This isn’t a book about blame. It’s a book about truth.
It’s about what happens when you start remembering the parts of your story you were taught to forget. It’s about the confusion of reunion. The unexpected healing of motherhood. The relief of finally saying what no one else could say for you.

I wrote this book for people like me. People who have complicated relationships with the word family. People who were told they were loved, but never really felt seen. People who learned how to keep the peace by losing themselves.
If you’ve ever wondered if what happened to you was really that bad, or if your pain counts—I want you to know that you’re not alone.
“I didn’t go no-contact to hurt anyone. I went no-contact because I was hurting.”
Thank you to everyone who has walked with me through this process. Hitting publish was one of the most terrifying and freeing things I’ve ever done.
If you feel drawn to this story, I hope it gives you permission to begin again too.
